Spanish in 8 Levels

From January 27th to April 27th 

Holidays: March 2nd-6th, April 10th and 13th  

Students learn Spanish through Mexican art, history, science and literature.
The program includes 2 beginner, 4 intermediate and 2 advanced levels. Each level consists of 2.5-hour sessions twice per week over 12 weeks, for a total of 60 in-class hours, including participation in 3 cultural workshops of 1.5 hours each. Suggested by the teacher it could be complemented by the participation in different talks and free cultural activities offered by the UNAM in an environment of complete immersion in Spanish.

Cost per level: $540 (tax and materials included)

To open the courses, a minimum of 5 students will be required.

*To register at LEVEL 1 is not required placement test.

Level 1 A1
Students will be able to express basic communicative needs and interact in simple and direct exchanges of information on familiar topics and daily activities. They will become familiar with basic vocabulary and be able to describe people, places and objects.
Level 2 A2

Students will feel confident communicating simple and routine tasks using basic formulas of courtesy. They will be able to exchange information about travelling, accommodation, meals, and shopping. They will increase their vocabulary and begin to talk about past events.

Level 3 B1

Students will expand their vocabulary to discuss issues related to family, work, travel, and current and past events, as well as to provide information about future plans. They will be able to produce a brief text or give a brief speech, describe and narrate events and experiences.

Level 4 B1

Students will be able to make, with some fluency, descriptions of everyday and current topics, participate in dialogues and conversations expressing opinions and preferences, agreement and disagreement.

Level 5 B2

Students will be able to have a long and broad conversation on various subjects. Their vocabulary and language level will be broad enough for them to provide clear descriptions and express emotions and views on general topics.

Level 6 B2

Students will be able to make clear and organized descriptions and presentations. They will be able to tell stories in detail and give appropriate examples to develop and highlight the main aspects. They will be able to participate in impromptu conversations on familiar topics.

Level 7 B2-C1

Students will be able to give a speech of a uniform speed, explaining their views, and use linking words to clearly mark the relationship between ideas.

Level 8 C1

Students will be able to interact with native speakers fluently and spontaneously. They will participate in conversations on different topics, and have a broad level of language allowing them to provide clear descriptions as well as being able to express views on abstract subjects using complex structures.
