Dialogs in Spanish

Fall 2 - 2019

This course focuses on developing students’ oral communication skills in Spanish to acquire CEFR’s A2 level. It is designed for students who have already:

• Completed ECO
• Completed Level 1
• Successfully achieved CEFR’s A1 level in an oral interview.

At this level, learners are able to communicate fairly well in present, past and future tense and are capable of asking for and sharing personal information, describing activities, expressing likes, habits, and interests and talking about intentions and future plans, etc.
The program consists of 5 modules of 6 two-hour sessions each, as well as participation in a culture workshop for each module.
Cost: $130 per module (including taxes)
Complete Modules 1 and 2 and receive a discount on the following modules:

Module 3: $110 (save $20)
Module 4: $100 (save $30)
Module 5: $90 (save $40)

Learning material: Aula Latina 2 for all modules. Cost: $50 (including taxes)

Registration and placement test
from October 15th to 18th

Tuesday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m

and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

For a placement test, arrive at least one hour before closing time.
Payment deadline is October 18th.
  Deadline for a 75% refund is November 5th.

Course contents

Module 1 “Getting Ready to Study in Mexico”

Recommended for students who have basic knowledge of Spanish, completed the ECO Programme or the Level 1 course or passed the A1 level (CEFR) following an oral interview.
In this module, students learn how to make recommendations, select a place to live, look for a roommate, describe their classmates, make invitations and presentations, ask for permission and give excuses.

Module 2 “Preparing a Mexican Fiesta”

Recommended for students who have basic knowledge of Spanish or completed Dialogs in Spanish’s Module 1 or following an oral interview.
In this module, students learn how to plan a day out in a Mexican city, talk about recreational activities and prepare food for a party.

 

Module 3 “Health and Sports”

Recommended for students who have basic knowledge of Spanish or completed Dialogs in Spanish’s Module 2 or following an oral interview.
In this module, students learn how to discuss activities of interest and look for solutions to problems.

Module 4 “Telling a Story”

Recommended for students who have basic knowledge of Spanish or completed Dialogs in Spanish’s Module 3 or following an oral interview.
In this module, students learn how to tell real or made up stories.

Module 5 “Let's Imagine our Future”

Recommended for students who have basic knowledge of Spanish or completed Dialogs in Spanish’s Module 4 or following an oral interview.
In this module, students learn how to design and present an advertising campaign and make plans for the future.
